I’m excited to offer a new version of my creative nonfiction class this summer at the Loft. This half-day workshop on June 22 will explore very short creative nonfiction, often called flash nonfiction. We’ll spend the morning reading, writing, and sharing true stories. Register
I’m so excited to visit Lake Country Booksellers in White Bear Lake, MN. My great-aunt was one of the founders. She’s the person who gave me my first set of Anne of Green Gables when I turned 12, which ultimately played a big role in turning me into a writer. I wish she were here today to see it.
The debut author panel at HippoCamp writing conference from Hippocampus Magazine includes James M. Chesbro, Tyrese L. Coleman, Randon Billings Noble, Suzanne Farrell Smith, Teresa Wong, and me, moderated by Hippocampus founder Donna Talarico.
The nonprofit organization, Success Beyond the Classroom, brings young people together to learn from published authors about the ins and outs of the writing world. The Young Authors Conference is held at Bethel College May 28-31, 2019, and is open to 4th-8th graders. I will be teaching a session on telling true stories.
Sunday, May 12, at 10am: on the Guthrie Proscenium stage (Guthrie or Premium tickets required)
Sunday, May 12 at 12:30: on the outdoor MPR stage (all ticket holders)
I will be a guest author at the SCIBA (Southern California Independent Booksellers Association) Spring Meeting in Pasadena, CA.
