What an honor and joy to be part of the Loft Literary Center’s first annual Wordplay book festival as not only an author but also as a Loft board member. The two-day festival, which kicked off at First Ave with a concert by the Rock Bottom Remainders, had over 10,000 visitors and featured over 100 authors. While Minneapolis didn’t have the most beautiful spring weather, the rain mostly held off, and plenty of people got to see their favorite writers including Amy Tan, Stephen King, Tommy Orange, Natasha Trethewey, and more. On day two of the festival, I was on a panel discussing motherhood with Nora McInerny, Mary Laura Philpott, Lori Gottlieb, and Mira Jacob. I also had the chance to chat with Vanessa McGrady in a conversation moderated by Sun Mee Chomet.
