First Publication: 1984

In 1984 I was a nine-year-old kid living in Minnesota and lucky enough to be part of an innovative home daycare that included everything from backyard gardens to family vacations. Rosie Johnson, the daycare provider, published an article in VIEW: Journal of the Minnesota Association for the Education of Young Children about her unique practices. The article, "Camping and Family Daycare," included illustrations by her daughter Lisa and me. The first time seeing my name in black and white print. So began a lifelong path for both of us: Lisa (Lisa M. Jones, MFA) became a visual artist and my pen is now used for writing instead of drawing.
